There are a lot of things that can happen to prevent you from having a blast with your favorite game in your hotel room.

Typical errors that might pop up when trying to connect to your hotel’s internet are connecting to the local DHCP server and being able to get an IP address.

The most common cause for these problems is that most hotels’ networks will require you to log in via a phone or a laptop, but an Xbox won’t do this. This is why you will have to manually enter the MAC address of a device that CAN log in.

If your hotel room has an Ethernet cable, you might want to try this option.

  1. Get your Ethernet cable and plug it in the Xbox one LAN port which is located at the back of your Xbox one.
  2. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your internet source.
  3. Turn on your console. Your console will immediately recognize that you are connected to the internet.
