Before you call, it is best to decide two things. First, what do you really want from the phone call? Be aware that there is a chance that they may offer you a better/different deal to keep you as a customer.

As mentioned above, a crucial part of the cancellation process is returning your equipment. This can usually be done by either dropping it off at a Comcast store, dropping it off at a UPS store, or by using a Comcast pre-paid shipping label. The customer representative will confirm this.
Before returning your equipment, it is a good idea to confirm with Comcast about what exactly you need to return. This can be done on the phone when you call up to cancel.
Also, just in case, it can be a good idea to take pictures of your equipment and its serial numbers as you are sending it off, and get a proof of postage if possible.
Make Sure Comcast Confirm That The Account Is Cancelled
Once you have canceled your contract and returned everything to Comcast, it is always helpful to give them a call just to confirm that everything has been canceled correctly. You can ask them if you have any outstanding balance to pay, and also confirm that all your equipment arrived properly.
While it isn’t that likely that anything will have gone wrong, by giving them a call early on, you can reduce the chance of having an unexpected bill from Comcast in the future.
